- Take an over-the-counter pain reliever like ibuprofen
- Rinse your mouth with salt water to limit infection risk
- Don’t bite down on a broken or chipped tooth and only consume soft foods or liquids
- If the chipped tooth has a sharp, jagged edge, cover it with wax paraffin or a piece of sugarless chewing gum to protect your mouth
Once you can come into our office, we have a few methods for fixing a chipped tooth. We can apply a filling or bonding to the tooth to repair the damage. These options retain the look of your natural teeth.
In some cases, we may apply a dental veneer, which is better for a front tooth that is chipped or broken since the veneers help your tooth look healthy and flawless.
In severe cases, tooth extraction may be required, and you may need to consider a dental implant for chipped tooth replacement.
Implant restorations are a broad term for the many types of dental implants available. You may have a single tooth replaced with a single implant restoration.
You may have two or three teeth that need to be replaced at once. That is what’s called a dental implant bridge.

I have really bad anxiety when it comes to my teeth and I was always so nervous, to the point of dentist offices refusing to help me. This location is much different. They took my worries and fears away. Dr. Ryan is a fabulous dentist that I have been seeing for almost a year now and I have had two-three procedures. I will recommend this place to everyone I can.
